The three-day regional conference “The EU and the Western Balkans: Where next?”, which was held in Podgorica, Montenegro, was the closing event of the project that aims the increase of partnership between Visegrad and Western Balkans countries for capacity building of Balkan countries in the process of European integration, where KDI was its implementing partner.

During this conference, attended by representatives of EU institutions, Balkan countries and civil society representatives from Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, it was discussed on the pathway of these countries to the EU, with particular emphasis on IPA funds.
Artan Murati from KDI presented the findings of the research carried out regarding absorption, programming and monitoring of IPA funds for Kosovo. He stated that despite the high importance of IPA funds for providing financial assistance to Kosovo on its path towards the EU, these funds however are not being used properly.
