Regardless of the women rights to participate in an equal manner in governance or their skills and their willingness to demonstrate their selves as successful leaders, customs in our society, tend to give women less political voice and a limited decision making power.
With the purpose of having democratic, transparent and inclusive governance and to ensure progress in the fulfillment of equal rights for all regardless of gender our institutions should change their limited customs and practices and create values which are based on the principles of gender integration strategy.
In order to give a contribution to gender integration, KDI in cooperation with PEN and SiV have organized a two-day workshop with legislative women’s caucuses of municipalities of Prizren region, Gender Equality Office and legislative women’s caucuses of municipalities of Gjakova and Kamenica. The purpose of this workshop is to empower legislative women’s caucuses in the legislation field of local governance, the basic principles of gender equality, the entrance to the strategy of gender mainstreaming, the use of mechanisms advocacy to mobilize women and the exchange of practices of groups with other municipalities.
Legislative Women's Caucus of the respective municipalities, in the context of their ideas for joint activities, expressed their willingness to continue cooperation with relevant actors so that these ideas can be realized in practice.
Legislative Women’s Caucus of municipalities of Prizren region have taken knowledge concerning the legislation of gender equality, basic principles of gender equality, introduction to gender integration strategy and advocating mechanisms for women mobilization.
One of the outcomes of the activity is also the exchange of the experiences among groups of women’s caucus, especially the good practices of legislative women’s caucuses of Gjakova and Kamenica.
Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) in cooperation with Syri Vizion (SiV) and Peer Education Network (PEN) have organized a two-day workshop with legislative women’s caucuses of municipalities of Prizren region, Gender Equality Office and legislative women’s caucuses of municipalities of Gjakova and Kamenica.
