KDI has launched the second round of public discussions between citizens and deputies of the VII Legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo, along with partner organizations in 11 municipalities across the country. The purpose of these debates is to develop conversations and submit citizens’ requests and recommendations on issues that fall within the central level domain, aiming at increasing transparency and accountability of the Kosovo Assembly.

The first meeting of this kind co-organized with the Cell Network was held in Gjakova, in which the citizens were in front of the deputies: Mimoza Kusari-Lila (LVV), Agon Batusha (LVV), Pal Lekaj (AAK), Teuta Haxhiu (AAK).

The main topics of discussion were youth policies with a focus on the youth center in Gjakova, increased budget for the youth department, high property tax payments, the issue of recognizing the status of victims of sexual violence during the war and amending – amending the law on recognizing the status of victims of sexual violence during the war, increasing the budget for shelters for victims of domestic violence, regulating the issue of early retirement of teachers, establishing pedagogical-psychological councils in schools, etc.
