Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) continued holding meetings aimed at identifying issues affecting the interest of the members of non-majority communities in the Municipality of Prizren. This meeting was attended by Turkish community from various neighbourhoods in the Municipality of Prizren.
Members of Turkish Community mentioned major infrastructural problems in the neighbourhoods they mainly reside. They mentioned, inter alia, problems as: problems with sidewalks in many streets and neighbourhoods of the city, large number of stray dogs, construction of park in the neighbourhood “Lakuriq” and lack of proper signalization in several neighbourhoods, in particular near schools, problems with waste collection in several neighbourhoods, discrimination in the use of languages in several institutions, such as MFMC, FMC and hospital, non-functional traffic lights in several streets of the city of Prizren, and the problem with the noise from coffee bars in several neighbourhoods and other problems, etc.
This activity has been taken within the Project “Together we can” supported by Embassy of Czech Republic, whose main objective is the protection and respect for communities rights to be informed and involved in the decision-making process at the municipal level
