Prizes awarded for the best essay on “How can EU funds be spent for the benefit of the community where you live?”

Today, the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) has, in a symbolic ceremony, concluded the competition for the best essay on the topic “How can EU funds be spent for the benefit of the community where you live?”, by awarding prizes and certificates for the three winning essays of the competition.

The competition for the best essay is organized to encourage young people to reflect their thoughts and provide them with a platform to share with us their creative ideas on how to make EU funds serve better the communities to which they belong. Young people’s interest to participate was very high, and the competition included a total of 53 essays.

Based on an evaluation conducted by a professional jury, with a narrow result, as winners of the competition were announced:

  1. Lirie Osmani,
  2. Vlera Thaçi,
  3. Hana Kaja

Based on the evaluation of the jury, the focus of the young applicants in this competition were the topics of environmental protection, air quality improvement, creation of recreational spaces for young people, development of tourism, increase of energy efficiency, etc.

This activity was carried out in the framework of the Promotion of Common European Values project, funded by Europe for Citizens program and implemented by KDI and three other partner organizations: Transparency International from Hungary, Transparency International from Macedonia and the Forum of Experts from Romania.
