The Executive Director of Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), Mr. Ismet Kryeziu and the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Kadri Veseli, with the support of the Swiss Embassy in Kosovo, have signed today the memorandum of understanding on strengthening the oversight of the Assembly towards the Government and increasing the participation of the citizens in the framework of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

 

The Speaker of the Assembly Mr. Veseli said that the cooperation with civil society, media and the public in general as well as transparency and accountability are crucial for the work of the Assembly of Kosovo. Offering full cooperation to the media and civil society, Mr. Veseli encouraged them to increase their presence in the Assembly and monitor the work of the representatives elected by the citizens, by offering the latter the opportunity to be informed on any development and decision which is undertaken by the Assembly of Kosovo.

 

The Executive Director of KDI, Mr. Kadri Veseli highlighted that the aim of the organization he leads is the cooperation with the Assembly of Kosovo in order to strengthen the parliamentary oversight of the executive branch, increase the participation of citizens and increase the public dialogue on sensitive issues and issues of national interest such as the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
