15.09.2016

In a solemn ceremony held in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, KDI officially concluded the project through which KDI has contributed to the construction of functional connectivity and communication between the Assembly, the public, NGOs and individual experts.

This comprehensive process conducted by KDI in partnership with the Assembly and supported by USAID has helped the Assembly through the ongoing development of democratic practices to increase its contribution in some segments and functions of parliamentary life, such as:

• Alternative and Qualitative legislation – 40 parliamentary research papers were conducted;

• Supervision of the government and other authorities in law enforcement – 7 parliamentary research to oversee the implementation of laws were delivered to the Parliamentary Committees;

• Inclusion of public on broad discussion and decision-making process – KDI has included around 700 people in public discussions regarding the new legislation and the existing one;

• Building trust – 11 out of 14 parliamentary committees at Assembly of Kosovo, led by position, the opposition and other ethnic groups have requested for external parliamentary research thought KDI.

KDI thanks the Presidency of the Assembly, parliamentary groups and commissions, MPs, the Parliament Office for Research, NGOs and all stakeholders who were involved in the implementation of this program.

KDI also thanks USAID and American taxpayers, without whom this project would not be realized.
