Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), in cooperation with the Director for Tourism and Economic Development of the Municipality of Prizren, organized a meeting for informing on the scheme for grant awarding “Support the Development of Entrepreneurship in the Municipality of Prizren”. This meeting was aimed at involving women entrepreneurs in the competitive process, as well as obtaining detailed information on criteria and procedures for application in the grant scheme as a policy of the Municipality of Prizren that directly impacts the increase of local economic development.
During this meeting, women entrepreneurs and representatives of business organizations raised numerous questions on procedures, conditions and criteria for grant award. Women entrepreneurs requested from DTED to inform them, as much as possible, on opportunities and policies of the municipality with regards to grant allocation and other supports for businesses led by women.
Zejxhane Celinaka requested from DTED to look for opportunities for supporting women who have their own businesses operating in houses and stimulate the same with certain municipal projects.
Representative from the Business Forum, thanking for such an organization, proposed that such meetings should be held more frequently as there is a huge lack of information on the grant award from municipality, especially for women entrepreneurs and craftsmen.
They also called for greater stimulation of businesses led by women entrepreneurs, in particular artisanal businesses, by providing premises for carrying out activities of women entrepreneurs. A number of questions were raised on criteria, conditions and procedures for application for grants.
