According to 2015 CPI, Kosovo marked no progress in the fight against corruption and is categorized in the same group with Moldova and worse than all the countries of the region.
According to the Corruption Perceptions Index, Kosovo has not made any progress in the past two years. Unlike countries of the region, which have made improvement, Kosovo stands still as in previous year's assessments.
Kosovo's scoring for 2015 is 33 points and is ranked at 103 place.
The scores could be improved if government becomes open and leaders become accountable to the public, whereas low scores are an indicator of widespread bribery, lack of penalties for corrupt practices and public institutions that do not respond to the needs of citizens.
The lack of capacities in judiciary, the lack of accountability, integrity and transparency in almost all levels of the executive power has led to a scenario where Kosovo is categorized in the same group with Moldova and worse than all the countries of the region.
