The closing phase of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is continuing with a lack of transparency and without coordination of the political spectrum. Since the Assembly is the highest legislative body, which will ultimately be responsible for the ratification of the final bilateral agreement, the KDI on 29 May 2018 called for an extraordinary session in which the state platform for dialogue would be debated.
KDI expresses support for the initiative undertaken by the PSD parliamentary group to hold the extraordinary session for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and invites the parliamentary political parties to mobilize to gather the necessary signatures to invite this session.
Members of the Assembly of Kosovo, as representatives of the will of the people can not avoid the responsibilities related to the future of the process, while other institutions with their actions should not overlook the role of the Assembly in this important state process.
The state platform of Kosovo should be defined in the Kosovo Assembly, giving legitimacy to this state process through the adoption of a resolution that will determine the red lines of Kosovo while guaranteeing institutions’ co-ordination, inclusiveness, accountability and transparency.
