Public debates between citizens and members of the Kosovo Assembly to raise the accountability and transparency of Parliament are continuing. This kind of public meeting was held in the municipality of Mitrovica this time where were present the MPs: Fjolla Ujkani (LVV), Gazmend Gjyshinca (LVV) and Valdete Idrizi (PDK).
During this public discussion co-organized by #KDI and #Mundësia, citizens addressed one set of requests and recommendations for the deputies which were present there.
Some of the main issues of this the discussion was about infrastructure investments with particular emphasis on budget allocation for completion of the regional road Prishtina – Mitrovica, environmental protection and problems with the management of regional waste landfill in Kushtova, the issue of the benefits to the families of the missing people during the war,the issue of politicization of the recruitment of academic staff and University management Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”, the need to amend the Law on Pensions, focusing on criteria for work experience and classification by occupation. It was also discussed the situation of the rural areas of this municipality and the need for investment in strategic areas as a measure preventing depopulation of those areas, etc.
The deputies present pledged to raise these issues in the Parliament.
