#KDI is continuing to organize meetings between citizens and local authorities across villages of 11 Kosovo municipalities, in which, it is discussed about issues of intrest to citizens and the opportunities of reviewing those issues by the institutions. During the last week, 10 meetings of this nature were held, within the framework of the project “Increasing accountability of local government institutions”, supported by the british embassy in Prishtina. #Klinë
Dugajeve: Residents of this village complained of low investments in this village, while as a main requirement they had the extension of the sewage network, the asphalting of some roads, intervention on the village bridge, which according to them is likely to collapse. Whereas, from the mayor Mr. Elezaj who was present at this meeting, was promised that in 2019, through the grants from the government that applied the municipality, all roads with asphalt will be paved and also the sewage network will be completed
Grabanicë:
Renovation of the village school, extension of the sewerage network, asphalting the streets in the village, were some of the demands that the residents of Grabanica of the Municipality of Klina addressed to the institutions. Even in this meeting was present the mayor, Mr. Zenun Elezaj, together with the Director of Education Directorate, Mr.Aren Limanaj. Regarding school renovation, municipal officials vowed that in the new academic year, the school will be renovated. The Mayor Elezaj said that the municipality for 2019 has allocated 40 thousand euro for the sanitation in this village, 80 thousand euros for the asphalting of the Dugajevë-Grabanica road and has applied to the Ministry of Regional Development for an amount of 250 thousand euro which foresees the asphalting of all roads in this village. The Mayor Elezaj has also promised that within the month of October will be intervened also in the river.
Sferkë
Residents of the village of Sferkë of Klina Municipality, as the main problems during the meeting with local authorities emphasized the issue of sewage, road pavements and placement of traffic signs on the road. Also in this meeting was present the mayor of the municipality, Mr. Zenun Elezaj who pledged that residents concerns will be solved during 2019. Elezaj said that for 2019 they have foreseen two projects for the village Sferka, where are allocated 20 thousand euro for sewerage and 15 thousand euros for the construction of new roads and the establishment of traffic signs.
Viti
Zhiti
Residents of Zhiti village of Viti municipality, had the opportunity to address concerns to municipal representatives, which, according to them, are making their daily life difficult. For citizens the main problems are: village lighting, road pavement and an agricultural road. Another concern that residents addressed, was the impurity of the river passing through the village. For all these concerns, municipal officials promised solutions in 2019.
Mitrovica
After a few visits and contacts with parents, whose children attend school at “Shemsi Ahmeti” in Shupkovc of Mitrovica. For these children, the main concern is transport to the school. The purpose of the meeting was to highlight the parents concerns, and how the municipality can contribute to the solution of this problem.
Municipal representatives have instructed the parents, to make a formal request to the municipality and then to expect to review that request.
Malisheva
Drenoc
For the citizens of Drenoc of Malisheva munipacility, the priority problems are the regulation of sanitation, underdeveloped roads, lack of sidewalks and sports halls. The Finance Director of the Municipality also provided explanations and additional information on the budget for 2019.
Mirusha
Citizens of the village of Mirusha, at the meeting with the municipality officails, stated that their requirements are: sewage regulation, unpaved roads, renovation of the school, river dams. The Municipal Finance Director provided explanations and additional information about the 2019 budget for this village, as well as pledged to increase efforts on some of the residents requests such as sewage, road pavement, school heating and renovation of the old school building.
Obiliq
During the joint meeting held by residents of two villages Brezhnicë and Kozarica with representatives of the Municipality of Obiliq, were discussed some issues that residents demanded to be addressed as soon as possible. The concerns are about regulating the sewerage network, pavements, student transport, road regulation and the opening of the ninth grade. After the discussion between citizens and municipal officials, reconciliation was reached in choosing some of these concerns.
Shtërpca
The citizens of the village of Sevcë in the municipality of Shtërpcë, during the meeting with the municipality officials complained about unemployment, with a special focus on young people. Some of the other problems were: the water supply network and sanitation network, renovation of the Cultural Center, renovation of the village stadium, the construction of a children’s park, the construction of wall supporters at the main village peak, in order to prevent flooding etc. . Municipal officials have pledged for the possible review of these requests.
Kamenica
Karacevë
The citizens of the village of Karaceva in the municipality of Kamenica, gathered for a meeting with municipal officials under the organization of KDI, where they had the opportunity to present their demands. Primary problem for these citizens is the issue of sewage. Another problem also turns out to be the asphalting of a street somewhere 100m leading to the village school, isolation of the school and arranging its bathrooms. Municipal officials have pledged for the possible review of these requests.
