The next protest of the former socially-owned workers group “Ramiz Sadiku” was held. This time they were protesting in front of State Prosecutor’s Office, the main institution who is competent to resolve this case.
480 former employees, demanded rule of law and justice for their cases from this institution. They also required punishment for all of those who abused their official position and power, thus denying them the receipt of 20% of the value of the assets sold by this enterprise when privatization process started and was implemented by the Privatization Agency of Kosovo (former KTA).
This denial occurred after the misuse of official stamps by “verifying the work” of those who did not contribute and removing exactly 480 contributing workers from the list!
Moreover, there have been cases where the union that represents workers has also asked for money to prove their work and contribution to this enterprise!
After the protest and the expression of their requests, some representatives of this group were invited for a meeting by Mrs. Sevdije Morina, the deputy state prosecutor.
At this meeting were promised that all their requests addressed in this protest, will be reviewed. For more than two years, KDI has been providing legal assistance to the workers of this enterprise through the legal aid program for citizens, by the preparation of documents, criminal charges, appeals in court of various requests, and finally logistical preparation of protests.
