The importance of language and its influence in current public discourse, certain stereotypes and the shape of womens’ appearance promoted by the media and its role in promoting the gender equality agenda, political parties’ willingness in increasing the quality of public discourse and their will in fighting gender discrimination, were some of the concerns addressed by the participants during the public debate which was organized by KDI, in cooperation with NGO Ec Ma Ndryshe and non-formal women group FEMaktiv.

The silence of society and other factors in fighting gender discrimination continues to be regarded as a serious concern, which leaves the women representation and emancipation handicapped in our society.

Similar issues like these, will keep being treated in our upcoming discussions based on the project “United women for a gender friendly political, economic and social governance” and its primary objectives.
