The return of non-parliamentary actions in the Assembly such as tear gas to disrupt the work of the parliamentary committees, in this case of Committee on Foreign Affairs, is a violation of democracy and parliamentary life.
We urge all MPs and political parties to exercise their parliamentary rights by not infringing upon the right of any member of the Assembly to exercise their constitutional mandate and responsibilities by which they were elected.
The agreement on demarcation with Montenegro, following the objections and “pro and cons” phase should be addressed through institutional mechanisms in order to become ratified or rejected as an invalid agreement. Proceeding of such agreement through accelerated procedures is unnecessary, hence MPs and parliamentary committees should be given sufficient time to review this agreement in detail.
The Assembly is the highest decision-making body that decides on the agreement, and no deputy or political group has no right to obstruct the will of any of the other MP’s to vote in favor or against this agreement.
The use of non-parliamentary actions and severity of political situation might lead to violence and might provoke new tensions. Therefore we urge all MP’s to take responsibility for their actions , so their actions are taken in conformity with legal and constitutional order, on the basis of which they are elected.
