Representatives from Kosova Democratic Institute (Transparency International Kosovo), have visited TI Czech Republic on Prague, on March 9 to 10, 2017. They participated on the launch of the joint project with TI Czech Republic, on exchanging experiences of both countries for election monitoring process. The first phase of this project is related to strengthening the monitoring of local elections in Kosovo in 2017.
Part of the delegation from KDI/TI were: Edita Mustafa, Albert Krasniqi and Artan Canhasi, who discussed about the financing of political parties and financing of political parties campaigns with Czech partners David OndráÄka, Petr VymÄ›tal and OndÅ™ej Cakl, who shared experiences on these topics.
These issues also were discussed with lawyers from TI CZ, who were involved in the process of monitoring of the local elections.
KDI and IT CZ shared necessary information on further steps in project implementation through short presentations followed by discussion.
During the meetings, Artan Canhasi informed the partners about the political scene in Kosovo, whereas Albert Krasniqi explained the mechanisms and methods for monitoring violations on electoral code and pre-election campaigns in Kosovo. Edita Mustafa went through the position of civil society in Kosovo and the role of NGOs in overseeing the spending of public money.
