Today, The Committee on Economy, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade represented by the chairman, Ferat Shala and the member, Pal Lekaj, with the assistance of KDI, paid a field visit to the Energy Regulatory Office. During this visit, the MPs were informed by ERO officials about the situation of implementation of the Energy Agreement (2015), the situation with electricity supply in the four northern municipalities and other issues raised by them.
ERO representatives stated that the serb company Electro Server has already met the legal requirements to be licensed as a supplier, but the final decision should be taken by the ERO board, which is not yet operational.
However, according to ERO officials, even in the event of eventual licensing of that company, the distribution, maintenance and access of Electricity Transmission, System and Market Operator (KOSTT) in the northern part is expected to remain challenge.
KDI remains committed to providing parliamentary committees and MPs with assistance in fulfilling their oversight functions, especially in relation to agreements and issues related to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
* This event was organized within the project “Promotion of a well-informed and participatroy process in the final phase of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue” supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Kosovo.
