Civil Society Organizations from Kosovo and Serbia discuss the process of normalization of relations
On the anniversary of the First Agreement on Principles of the Normalization of Relations between Kosovo and Serbia, civil society organizations discussed yesterday regarding the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and the role of civil society in this process.
During this joint meeting, it was emphasized the need for both Kosovo and Serbia to be more committed to the dialogue process as the only way to achieve the normalization of relations and the settlement of mutual disputes. An important factor was the need for both parties to refrain from discourse and actions that harm the process.
The issue of reaching an agreement on car plates as one of the most current issues, but also other issues on which there is still no agreement between the parties, were topics that were also discussed at this meeting.
Representatives of civil society organizations stressed the need for Kosovo and Serbia to reach agreements that directly affect the lives of citizens. And shared the view that dialogue should serve to improve the lives of citizens and be developed on the basis of transparency and accountability.
Finally, it was stressed that civil society should also be more pro-active in the normalization process, in order to improve the quality of the process and guarantee transparency and accountability.
