Women’s status and representation in labor market was the top subject which we have discussed during today’s roundtable organized by KDI in Prizren. Gender inequality, consequently women’s discrimination is evident at the very initial stage of hiring announcements being manifested with a discriminating language on hiring announcements (job competitions), up to the hiring selection in leading positions. Participants had the chance to get informed on women’s job seeking trend in different job positions, identification of factors and causes on why women of our community continue to be passive and marginalized in labor market and the possibility of improving this trend in favor of their general welfare. Women continue to be seen as they’re the only ones of being responsible in child and elderly care which affects their active participation in society.
