KDI remains engaged to increase capacities of Local Councils, in order to mobilizes and ensure the presence of citizens in decision making process at local level. For this scope, today were organized one day workshop with Local Councils at Dragash municipality. Participants at this workshop was Local Councils, Chairman of Municipality Assembly and directors of municipal directorates.

This workshop aimed to increase the capacities of Local Councils, based on the concepts on the role of Local Councils in decision-making processes, the duties and responsibilities of Local Councils, the role and opportunities in monitoring public services, and the strengthening of leadership capacities within Local Councils members etc.

Considering the importance of citizens participation of budget hearing, one of the point within framework of this workshop were the role of Local Councils in budget planning, how to used effective mechanisms to prioritized their needs within locality and articulated their requested in front of local authorities. August, it’s the determinant month which Local Councils can engaged in planning of budget projections, especially in capital investments for 2018.
